Instagram profiles to follow [January 25 edition]
Instagram is a goldmine for photography inspiration, and over the years, I’ve discovered some incredible profiles that have shaped my creative vision.
Whether you’re drawn to cinematic storytelling, urban aesthetics, or surreal artistry, these photographers each bring something truly unique to the table.
Before we dive in—sharing is caring! That’s why I plan to make this a recurring post. For this first edition, I’ve included quite a few, but in future editions, I’ll spotlight a more curated selection. Let’s dive into these stunning profiles!
Polina Washington ( @polina.washington )
Polina Washington’s photography exudes a cinematic feel, often wrapped in mystery and deep emotion. Her mastery of muted tones, dramatic lighting, and dreamy compositions create a mood that many times makes me feel nostalgic.
2. YZA Voku ( @yzavoku )
I love this profile for so many reasons. Its distinct aesthetic combines a limited color palette—mainly whites, reds, and blacks—with artistic, minimalist compositions that pack an emotional punch—often quite unsettling, in my opinion.
3. BILLY DINH ( @billydeee )
Billy Dinh has an incredible talent for capturing the urban vibes of city life. Street photography is one of my favorite genres, and in that world, this guy is top-tier. Each of his photos feels like a movie frame, showcasing masterful composition, lighting, and emotion—while still preserving the raw, unfiltered spontaneity of photographing strangers in the moment.
4. Pablo ( @pablo_laguia )
Pablo Laguia approaches wedding photography as both an art form and an emotional journey. His work goes beyond traditional portraits, capturing fleeting moments and raw emotions in a way that I feel is both authentic and cinematic. What I love most about his photography is the intimacy woven into every frame—each detail, from the setting to the lighting, enhances the story and adds depth to the moment.
5 Quyen Mike (@qmike)
One of my favorite commercial photographers, his work is bold, dynamic, and full of energy. With vibrant colors, creative props, and imaginative poses, he crafts visually striking content for a wide range of brands.
6. Yosigo (@yosigo_yosigo)
Yosigo’s photography is a masterclass in minimalism, geometry, and the art of finding beauty in everyday moments. His work often emphasizes clean lines and striking symmetry, creating a serene and orderly aesthetic that gives me a deep sense of visual calm. I also love his use of color, which at times reminds me of Martin Parr
7. Jonti Wild (@jontiwild)
Bold, risky, and innovative—I'm completely obsessed with his style. I love how he combines vibrant, dynamic portraits with wide-angle lenses and flash for a dramatic effect, then enhances them further with striking, audacious edits.
8. Igor Brehov (@igor_brehov)
I recently came across this profile, and I’m absolutely captivated by his work. His style is all about high-risk shots, often pushing the limits for both himself and his models. But the results? Simply stunning. His black-and-white images have a distinctive, unmistakable style.
9. Louis Dazy (@louisdazy)
Oh boy, this guy truly masters the art of storytelling through his work. What fascinates me most about Louis Dazy’s style is how he blends analog techniques like double exposures with a bold, vibrant color palette. Each photo feels like it could be the cover of a detective film or a thriller.
10. Daiki Shinomiya (@daiki.shino)
Daiki Shino’s content captures candid moments of everyday life in urban settings. His shots, though often static, are rich with emotion and storytelling, revealing the extraordinary in the ordinary. That’s what I love most about his photography.
11. Junya Watanabe (@jungraphy_)
His entire gallery is a stunning collection of night photography in Tokyo. I’ve mentioned before how much I love urban photography, and Junya Watanabe’s style is a perfect mix of architecture, colors, neon lights, and the atmospheric effects of rain and water reflections. His images capture a cinematic, cyberpunk aesthetic, rich with intricate details—so much so that if you stop to really take them in, you could spend ages analyzing them. I absolutely love it!
As I mentioned at the beginning, each of these photographers brings something unique to the world of photography. Whether it’s their mastery of light, their storytelling ability, or their creative approach to composition, they’ve all inspired me in different ways. I hope this list sparks your own creative journey and introduces you to fresh perspectives in photography.
